WARRENSBURG, MO 鈥 The 欧美视频 (UCM) Board of Governors convened for its meeting on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, in Warrensburg, addressing several key topics related to academic programs, campus management systems and institutional recognitions.

During the Student Engagement and University Advancement Committee report, several UCM Fashion and Apparel Merchandising students showcased their products and discussed the benefits and experiences of the program as they prepare for careers in the fashion and merchandise industries. UCM President Roger Best and Board members commended the students for their creativity and hard work in preparing for their careers.

Among the key approvals during the plenary session was the creation of a graduate certificate in Corporate Training designed to prepare students for careers in learning and development. A study conducted by UCM鈥檚 Management 5310 course highlighted industry demand, which was further supported by letters from multiple Kansas City-area learning and development organizations. The online program will serve as a standalone credential or a pathway to an MBA or MS in Educational Technology.

The Board also approved a contract with StarRez Inc. for a new housing management system, as the current one is being phased out by the vendor. The new contract commenced on Feb. 1, 2025. The system manages recruitment, housing agreements, meal plan agreements and student billing while integrating with UCM鈥檚 Banner system.

Additionally, the Board approved the naming of designated spaces in recognition of individuals or entities contributing significantly to the university. This policy allows for naming rights in honor of financial contributions, exceptional faculty or administrative service, distinguished alumni and corporate partnerships.

Faculty Senate President Dr. Jaimee L. Hartenstein reported on the cooperation of campus offices and individuals collaborating at commencement in December to ensure a successful event for the campus.

During the Finance and Administration Committee report, PFM Asset Management presented an Investment Performance Review.

The Board also awarded emeritus status to Susan Delap, Manager of Business/Fiscal Operations, Online and Learning Engagement (July 19, 1998 鈥 Jan. 31, 2025), in recognition of her service to the university.
