With plans to implement new technology to create more efficient, cost-effective parking lot patrol and management, the 欧美视频 Department of Public Safety has obtained a new vehicle well equipped to assist in this effort. A step toward the future, Public Safety this summer purchased a hybrid 2023 Ford Maverick pickup with digital license plate reading capabilities that will be ready for deployment beginning Sept. 1.

UCM Partners to Bring National Endowment for Humanities Chair to Missouri for Historic Speech

Consistent with its role in providing educational programs and opportunities that promote history and culture, the 欧美视频 College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) is co-sponsoring the first visit to Missouri by the Chair of the National Endowment for Humanities (NEH). The history-making keynote speech by NEH Chair Shelly C. Lowe will be presented at Maple Woods Community College, 2601 NE Barry Road, Kansas City, at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6 as part of a tour giving her an opportunity to learn more about Missouri鈥檚 cultural assets and humanities offerings.

UCM Athletics Legend Jerry Hughes Honored Through Building Renaming

During the four decades Jerry Hughes served in a leadership post within 欧美视频 Intercollegiate Athletics, the UCM Multipurpose Building became much like a second home. He devoted countless hours at the institution鈥檚 main indoor sports arena watching the growth of thousands of student athletes, the building of regional and national championship athletics teams, and the countless celebrations that came with the home-teams鈥 successes. Although Hughes passed away on Jan. 21, 2023 while he was serving as Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics, his professional legacy will live on with the Multipurpose Building being renamed the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center.

Federal VA Grant Supports Voices of the Heartland Sharing Life Stories of Underrepresented WWII, Civil War Veterans

Within a half-hour drive of the 欧美视频, rows of neatly-placed headstones line the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville honoring individuals who served in the United States military. With only small bits of information etched into each of the hundreds of gray granite monuments that dot this vast burial ground, the life stories of many underrepresented World War II veterans mostly remain untold. This will soon change, however, thanks to a $399,000 Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Cemetery Administration (NCA) grant that will also cover project work at Fort Scott National Cemetery in Fort Scott, Kansas.
