Student Collaboration with Warrensburg Main Street Paves Way for Spring 2020 Event to Promote Community History, Economic Vitality Through Photography
Working with Warrensburg Main Street, 欧美视频 students are putting their knowledge of event planning into practice to create opportunities to attract people to the downtown area this spring while also enhancing the ability to market the community. Thanks to a student-Main Street partnership, planning is currently underway for what is tentatively coined 鈥淪napshots of the 鈥楤urg.鈥�

Duncans Make It Count in Son's Honor by Helping UCM Veterans
Dale and Megan Duncan recently presented a $7,500 gift to UCM from the Spencer C. Duncan Make It Count Foundation. The Duncans stopped by the Military and Veterans Success Center in early December to present the check to UCM President Roger Best, with members of Military and Veteran Services and the UCM Alumni Foundation also in attendance.

MOU Signing Publicly Announces UCM-SFCC's Partnership to Provide Part-time Police Academy for Training in the Sedalia Region
Touting the value of a partnership that provides much-needed training for local law enforcement personnel, top leaders at the 欧美视频 and State Fair Community College on Dec. 5 ceremonially signed a Memorandum of Understanding launching a new part-time police academy in Sedalia. The academy is already drawing interest from individuals beyond Pettis County.

欧美视频 Theatre and Dance will present a production of O. Henry鈥檚 The Gift of the Magi. The play is adapted by Jon Jory, and the production will run Dec. 5-8 in UCM鈥檚 James L. Highlander Theatre. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Dec. 5- 7 and 2 p.m. Dec. 7-8.

Strong Corporate-Campus Relationship Leads to New Peer to Career Support Center at UCM
The positive relationships that Career Services staff have built with employers who visit campus not only leads to jobs and internships for students, but most recently resulted in a corporate gift making possible a new collaborative space to aid 欧美视频 students in the career-building process.

On their way to learning how to teach social studies to high school students, 欧美视频 students this fall addressed the question 鈥淲hy vote?鈥� Their response led to a practical exercise in voter education and original research that may help increase other students鈥� participation in the voting process, particularly those who are far from home.
