WARRENSBURG, MO - Students from throughout the metropolitan area are invited to participate
in 2023 Young Writers Camps, offered from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays,
either June 20-23 or July 11-14 at the Anita Gorman Discovery Center in Kauffman Legacy
Park in Kansas City.
The creative writing camps, offered since 1983 by the Greater Kansas City Writing
Project (GKCWP) and the 欧美视频, provide participants with
a creative and supportive environment. Each session is designed and led by experienced
teachers of writing.
The camps are created for middle and high school students who already love writing
and want to enjoy writing more. At the end of each session, young writers will share
their favorite pieces with friends and families at an open mic celebration.
鈥淓ach year, we work with diverse young writers, from those who want to bring a fantasy
novel they are currently working on to budding poets looking for inspiration to writers
needing to find encouragement to share their ideas,鈥 said Katie Kline, director of
the Greater Kansas City Writing Project.
Early bird registration (by May 1) is $225. Cost is $275 for registration after May
1. For more information and to register, visit this .
