Joe Mullins of UCM Named to Truman Heartland Community Foundation Board of Directors

Joe Mullins, consultant for the 欧美视频鈥檚 Center for Workforce and Professional Education, was recently named to the Truman Heartland Community Foundation Board of Directors. He will begin serving a three-year term in January. Other new members joining the non-profit organization鈥檚 board this winter are Beth Rosemergey and Jason Snodgrass.

 

Mullins鈥 extensive experience in workforce and professional education includes serving as a team member on the Regional Workforce Intelligence Network of Greater Kansas City, co-lead on UCM鈥檚 Avionic/Aerospace Academy program development, lead on the UCM Gigabit Lab and Mixed Reality Studio and lead for the university鈥檚 participation in Internet of Things, virtual and augmented reality initiatives, curriculum development, training and programs. In addition, Mullins helps lead a number of additional UCM workforce development programs and partnerships and serves as a  board member for Velocity Lee鈥檚 Summit entrepreneur group and as a committee member for the Bra Couture KC charity. His past memberships have included Bioinformatics Regional Advisory Committee, Gateways KC Initiative Steering Committee, Mozilla Gigabit Community Fund Review Panel and board member of Greater Lee鈥檚 Summit Healthcare Foundation. Mullins鈥 additional experiences include telecommunications, finance, marketing and business development.

Founded in 1982, Truman Heartland serves the region with assets of more than $70 million and annual grants surpassing $5.3 million. Truman Heartland serves individuals who, through their private giving, wish to support the public good and help them do it in the most tax-wise and effective manner. Through the Community Foundation, donors can set up their own family foundations, scholarship funds, field of interest funds, endowment funds, charitable gift annuities and many other charitable vehicles, which utilize shared resources of the foundation to maximize the impact of their philanthropic dollars. In addition to donor services, the Community Foundation provides asset development for nonprofit organizations, awards grants to nonprofits, assists organizations in planned giving, and serves as a leader in addressing community issues.
