In addition to the Feb. 6-12, 欧美视频's Career Services Center also makes available
the Professional Clothing Studio, located in Ward Edwards Building Room 2200, to help
students look their best for potential employers and other career networking opportunities.
WARRENSBURG, MO -- From opportunities to help students dress for success and learn
proper business dinner etiquette to landing job interviews and internships, the University
of Central Missouri Career Services Center has scheduled a number of special events
during the 2022 spring semester.
This line-up of career-oriented activities begins with the Feb. 6-12. Through this virtual opportunity, Career Services is partnering with JCPenney
for a program that will provide discounts on the purchase of clothing that will help
students dress to impress during a job interview or other engagements with a potential
employer. Students who want to participate should Text MULES1871 to 67292 to get their
coupon for the event or click to obtain more information.
To prepare for future professional networking situations, students can attend a virtual
etiquette training event titled 鈥 The virtual event is planned for 4 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9. Participants will
receive etiquette tips and tricks from a professional trainer in this field. To participate,
students can click or login to their Handshake account.
Students who are looking for employment or an opportunity for an on-the-job learning
experience are encouraged to participate in the Spring 2022 Virtual Job and Internship
Fair. This event is open to all majors and will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday,
Feb. 16. This is an ideal time for students to meet professionals in their field,
learn more about graduate and professional schools, and explore a multitude of career
opportunities.
To register for the Virtual Job and Internship Fair, students will need to sign up
for different sessions with employers. These sessions, however, will not be available
until the employer has established them. Students should access their Handshake account
and check in often to register for employer sessions as they become available. To
do so, they must follow these procedures:
鈥 Click the 鈥淎vailable Sessions鈥 tab in the upper-left of the page, below the fair
title and date/time.
鈥 Update their privacy setting to "Community." This will allow them to participate
in all fair sessions.
鈥 When a student locates an employer that they would like to connect with, look for
this employer鈥檚 session information to appear below the employer name and description.
鈥 Students should click on the name of the session in which they would like to participate.
鈥 Click on RSVPed to see more information about the session or cancel their reservation.
The UCM Spring 2022 Nursing Hiring Day will be conducted in person from 1 to 3 p.m,
Monday, Feb. 28 at UCM-Lee鈥檚 Summit, located at the Missouri Innovation Campus (MIC).
This event provides an opportunity to meet professionals in the nursing and healthcare
fields, representatives of graduate and professional schools, and explore many career
opportunities. All nursing majors are encouraged to attend regardless of class status.
Underclassmen will benefit from this event as it provides an outlook on the job market
as well as networking possibilities. Juniors and seniors can inquire about full-time
or clinical opportunities.
Students seeking careers in education are encouraged to attend the Spring 2022 Education
Job Fair, a virtual event planned for 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 16. They
have the opportunity to meet with education professionals, graduate and professional
school representatives, and explore career opportunities in the field of education.
To register for the Spring 2022 Education Job Fair, students will need to sign up
for different sessions with employers. These sessions, however, will not be available
until the employer has established them. Students should access their Handshake account
and check in often to register for employer sessions as they become available. To
do so, they should follow the same sign-up procedures that are listed for the Feb.
16 Virtual Job and Internship Fair.
Students planning to attend either in-person or virtual events are advised to bring
or upload their resume and wear professional attire. Anyone who needs assistance with
their resume can take advantage of Career Services Center's W.I.S.E (Walk In Studio
Experience) hours M-F 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Professional dress is encouraged for both in-person and virtual events. Students who
need professional clothing are encouraged to visit the Professional Clothing Studio,
located in Ward Edwards Building Room 2200, between the hours of 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
M-TH. Students may pick out up to four separate items per month at no charge, sizes
may vary depending upon donations.
