Poster Printing

Q: What file format do you prefer?

A. PDF is preferred. Most programs can save or export as PDF. We prefer PDF as it guarantees that we are printing your poster in the most accurate way possible, regardless of the fonts you may have used in the layout process.

Q: When do I need to provide my PDF file to DLII in order to meet my deadline?

A. As soon as possible. Printing is performed on a first come, first served basis. To ensure that we are able to accommodate your deadline, we require a minimum of three business days after receiving your print-ready file. More lead time is appreciated!

Q: Can you print a Hello Kitty poster for me?

A. Sorry, no. DLII may only print posters that are copyright free and are directly used to support classroom instruction/activities. We can also print your conference research poster; however, we must charge your department our material cost for printing. Contact DLII for current research poster print pricing.

Q: What size paper do you have?

A. We stock a single roll paper size that measures 44 inches wide and 100 feet long. Posters are printed to the roll paper and the excess is trimmed. Sometimes it makes economic sense to adjust the size of your poster in order to reduce the cost in material. For example, a conference may limit the maximum poster size to 36 inches x 48 inches. Our roll paper smallest dimension is 44 inches. To accommodate the 48 inch dimension of a poster we would need to rotate the print 90 degrees so that the 36 inch side fits within the limitation of our 44 inch wide roll paper. This means we will use 4 feet of the printer's roll paper. Slightly shrinking the poster from 48 inch to 44 inch will ensure that we reduce the amount of material used, and save the department charge back amount by 25%.
